WENDY WARNER…

 

has soloed with the Chicago, Boston, National, San Francisco, Bamberg, NHK, Detroit, Dallas, London, and Berlin symphonies, as well as the Moscow Virtuosi, L’Orchestre de Paris, and the Japan Philharmonic – with conductors Mstislav Rostropovich, Christoph Eschenbach, Semyon Bychkov, Andre Previn, Vladimir Spivakov, Charles Dutoit, and Michael Tilson Thomas.  In 1990 she took 1st Prize in the Fourth International Rostropovich Competition in Paris, and in 1991 was awarded a prestigious Avery Fischer Career Grant.  The distinguished cellist Franz Helmerson told The New York Times, “I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a young cellist with such potential… she’s unbelievable.”  A native of Chicago, Ms. Warner is now teaching at Roosevelt University.
